Spain v Italy

The kings of the world battled it out against the instinctive Italians in Gdańsk today. Italy's Mario Balotelli arrived in style with his expensive looking golden watch, sunglasses and headphones. This was going to be a very close match between two very close countries.

The game started off pretty well with Spain dominating the play and having a few close goes at the goal. In the 47th minute Balotelli got a yellow card and later in the second half he was replaced by Di Natale; who amazingly scored a goal just 3 minutes after for Italy. This wasn't what everyone expected.

Spain saw the urgency of needing to score a goal and fortunately did so in the 64th minute of the game. Unsurprisingly, Cesc Fábregas was the goal scorer, levelling out the game. He was later replaced by Fernando Torres who had an immediate goal attempt; it was very close, but just not close enough. Spain desperately tried to win and score another goal but eventually they had to settle with a 1-1 draw. Not what we expected from the World Champions, is it?

Join me later with the highlights of the Ireland v Croatia game. I wonder who will win...
