Rhino Poaching

There are risks that rhinos are in serious danger from people wanting rhino horns to use for medical reasons. This is a big problem in South Africa as 450 rhinos were killed. All zoos and wildlife parks have to be alert for any poachers because they kill zebras, rhinos and lots of other animals. WWF show that 341 have been killed in 2011, which has overtaken last years total of 333. Rhinos have had their horns sawn off and poachers shoot a dart into the rhino so that it goes to sleep. Then they saw its horns off and leave the animal to bleed to death. From around 2000-2005 rhinos are killed each year in South Africa.
