PAIR JAILED AFTER 3 YEAR OLD CHILD NEARLY DIED IN A 'PUNISHMENT CELL'

A three year old child nearly died in his own home.
The pair took camera phone footage of the boy in the room of their council-owned semi house. A court heard the child was just hours from dying when cops rescued him as it snowed outside in Pontypool, South Wales. There was no heating, lights and it was snowing.

The child only had a Potty and a bowl and fork.
PC James Periam said: "I found the boy locked in a bare cell-like room." "His eyes were lifeless and he was ice - cold."

The child (who cannot be named) was rushed to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny for emergency medical treatment to save his life.
Doctor Paul Davies said “He was dehydrated and hungry. He even ate his own hair."

Brooks, 25, and Lewis, 22, of Pontypool, admitted wilful neglect of a child. Brooks was jailed for three years and Lewis for three and a half years.
Brooks and Lewis also had another child, but were taken into care and now are looking for a loving family.

The Artist Film Review

Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. (imdb.com)

As this film won 4 oscars including best picture, I really wanted to check it out. No wonder it won all them its amazing! I love the fact its a silent film as it's different but its very awkward to eat your popcorn without making a noise.

The acting is incredible and the dog could do the most awesome tricks ever.

I give this film 4 out of 5 stars, you have to see this film!

Waterproof mobile phone

A waterproof phone has been revealed at an exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.

If you've ever dropped your phone in the bath, you'll know it usually means the end of it.
But a British company have developed a special waterproof coating to stop water damaging the parts of a phone if it gets wet. Many smartphones on display and some were really out to impress.

People

To me, people are complicated. Can you ever really know a person? I went to ASDA a few weeks ago and the woman behind the till laughed at the end of every sentence - EVERY SINGLE ONE. Not only that, but she called my mum ‘love’ at least 4 times in half the number of minutes; this would be fine if my mum wasn’t old enough to be the shop-assistant’s. But perhaps it is things like this that break the ice when talking with someone you’ve never met.

But what do I know? I’m always ‘out of the loop’, but that’s possibly because I’m the kind of person to recite Shakespeare on a roller-coaster or slide down stairs on a piece of cardboard... (don’t try the cardboard thing, it’s rather painful.)

In my opinion, though, you can never read a person; not completely. So I now don’t bother. I don’t judge, assume or psychoanalyse people anymore and d’you know what? Life feels happier. :)

uk animation indersty ( at risk )

Animation UK, a lobby group backed by prominent studios, has met Chancellor George Osborne to urge him to introduce tax breaks in next month's budget.
They have told him the industry is at a "critical tipping point" and could disappear from the UK within years.
They say foreign tax breaks and other factors make it cheaper to work abroad.
Animation UK said their meeting with Mr Osborne was "positive and productive".
It follows a warning from Wallace and Gromit animators Aardman, which said it was considering moving production overseas because it was too expensive in the uk.

Ship Fire!

A cruise ship from the same fleet as the Costa Concordia
is being towed to safety after drifting without power in the middle of the
Indian Ocean after a fire.

It broke out in the generator room but has not spread to any
other part of the ship at everyone relief.

After sending out a distress signal on Monday, the ship is being towed by
a French fishing vessel.

It's heading to the nearby Desroches island in the Seychelles.
There are more than 1,000 people on board and officials say everyone is safe
and well, which of course is good.

The Costa Allegra belongs to Costa Cruises. The company also own the Costa
Concordia, which capsized off the Italian coast in January, killing 32 people.

I know i won't be traveling with costa in the future if thing's like this keep happening.

Webites... Banned

Schools have carried on trying to make their schools "safe" from inappropriate websites, but are they being too cautious? Some people think that schools shouldn't block the whole websites just the parts of it that are rude or not appropriate.

For example, Google Images, a site blocked in most schools, could just have the inappropriate images on the site blocked instead of the whole site. Also there are many sites that also have pictures which are fully blocked, when they could easily just block the pictures that they do not want pupils seeing.

I think that schools should block the inappropriate parts of websites so that students can still see most parts of their chosen website, this could make sure that pupils can get pictures or information that they need instead of searching for ages trying to find them. Also if students have been told they can play games after a lesson on computers and they are all blocked then what are they supposed to do?

In conclusion people should be able to search descent sites freely if they are in a computer room or on a computer with teacher permmission

phone app

A Shelflife phone app links stories and pictures provided by donors to tags attached to the goods.
Browsers in Oxfam shops can scan the tags using the app to find out about an individual item's past.
The charity believes it can sell things more easily when they have stories attached to them.
"Someone might donate a record and add that it was the song that they danced to at their wedding to its tag," said Oxfam's Emma Joy.

Where would you put a Brit award? The Toilet!?

This is no joke, Harry Styles out of One Direction answered the above question with The toilet!

This is what he said the Manchester Evening news: "You don't want to put it somewhere too show-offy, like in the hall or on your mantelpiece."

"So if you put it in the bathroom everyone's going to have to go in there at some point anyway!."

I don't know about you but i don't think he would be happy if it fell in the loo.

where would you keep a Brit award if you had one?
