Portugal v Denmark

Portugal are looking very strong at the front, with three top of the class players, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Postiga. Denmark aren't looking as strong as the opposition, but they have got Bendtner and Eriksen, who won't let a scoring chance slip through their fingers.

Portugal started the match confidently and strongly, dominating the play. They were getting closer and closer to scoring. Denmark didn't look like they were very happy; and in the 24th minute gave away a corner. Pepe just couldn't help it and got involved, he headed the ball and.......GOAL!!! Portugal were in the lead, all thanks to Pepe.

The game carried on, Portugal leading the way. They got another fantastic chance and they didn't let it go to waste. Postiga shot the ball into the back of the net and Denmark were down 2-0. The happiness didn't last too long, Bendtner got on the end of a fantastic pass and scored. The first half ended in a 2-1 lead to Portugal.

The second half did not begin very well for the leaders. Denmark were keeping hold of the ball whenever they could; giving them fantastic scoring opportunities. At the other end of the pitch, Ronaldo was passed the ball twice and had two brilliant chances to score. But he failed to do what he does best. In the 80th minute Denmark used their passing skill well; getting a goal through Bendtner once again in a heart breaking moment for Portugal. 3 minutes before the game ended, a sub, Valera got on the end of a great cross; missing his first strike. He kept possession of the ball and had a shot at the goal. Did it go in? YES IT DID!!!! Portugal won the game 3-2.

Join me next for the results of the Holland v Germany match. If Holland win, then everyone in the group will be on 3 points. In my opinion, this is very unlikely to happen as Germany have an outstanding goalkeeper, who rarely lets the ball reach the back of his net.
