David Beckham has announced that he will be retiring from professional
football at the end of the season!
David Beckham was born on the 2nd of May 1975 in
London. David is a professional football player who has played for Manchester
United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy, French Ligue
1, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, in which he holds the
appearance record for an outfield player. Beckham is also the former captain
for the England team and is currently playing for the French Champions PSG.
Not so long ago, David Beckham announced to the world that he
will be retiring from his job as a professional football player! David has been
an inspiration for millions of people out there whose dreams are to become a football
player just like David, and I am sure that he will be missed by millions more
people as well. Not only has David become a world-wide footballer on the pitch,
David has also been seen on several adverts such as the Sainsbury’s advert: ‘Get
Active’ where their aim is to get more kids up and active on their feet instead
of being sat in their rooms on laptops, phones and other types of electrical equipment.
Beckham recently said: "I'm
thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the
right time to finish my career."
David will be deeply missed. He has
been a role model for millions of possible future football stars out there and
has inspired more people than you could count to get active!
