Mick Philpott 55 and his wife Maidread 31 were arrestered for the death of there 6 children in a house fire in Derby. This happened on Tuesday and they are due to be questioned later. The 6 children that were killed were called Jade Philpott, 10, and brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jessie, six and Jayden, five, died in the house fire on Victory Road on 11 May. Another brother called Duwanye 13 died three days later in hospital.
All the children were asleep when the fire began so they did not know what was happening. Derbyshire Police said that petrol was used to start the fire which was believed to have originated below the home's letterbox in the earlier hours in the morning.
