call for body image lessons

MPs call for body image lessons in schools.

Mps say school childeren should have lessons on body image and self-esteem. Way to many childeren worry about their weight, but now things have gone to far. A big inquiry into body image by politicians has found that children as young as five worry about their weight and appearance. Some people are blaming magazines, newspapers and TV adverts for making an 'ideal' image which are not possible for everyone. This may lead up to bullying in schools and is a very big concern among 1 in 3 10-year-olds. Advertisements have been told to use more realistic and diverse models. Children are also influenced by their parents' worries, with peer groups having a bigger impact at secondary school age. Overall, many people are concerned about their weight and have a negative body image - and it's a problem that can affect anyone regardless of who they are.
