Louis Smith's Teams Victory.

Louis Smith described yesterday as a 'beautiful day' for British gymnastics after Team GB won its first men's team Olympic medal since 1912.

Smith won pommel horse bronze at the Beijing Games, but last night the whole team performed to the best of their ability, and that's why they got the bronze.

He said: 'British gymnastics has been growing and growing. Now everyone will be more motivated than ever. This means so much and we've still got the finals left. It's a beautiful day for the sport and for British gymnastics.'

The group rose from forth to second after a sensational final rotation on the floor. However they had to settle for bronze after an appeal by Japan.
