36 year old Richard Whitehead stunned everyone watching the men's T42 200 metres as he went from last place and ended up winning!
He only took up sprinting last year, his preferred subject was the T46 marathon but the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) said that he was ineligible for it. He was the under dog for this race but with a stadium full of people cheering him on, he came through to win in 24.38 seconds, smashing his own world mark of 24.93 seconds. He now has the 100m and 200m left in his categories.
He was born without his lower legs and so he has to use prosthetic ones to get around. Before the race, he accidentally left his prosthetic legs at the warm up track which caused his medal ceremony to be delayed but that didn't take the shine out of his achievement.
