Wimbledon 2012: Murray Beaten By Federer

Andy Murray was born on the 15th of May 1987. He is a Scottish professional tennis player. Murray is the British No. 1 and ranked No. 4 in the world.

Today was the Wimbledon 2012 men’s finals. Andy Murray and Roger Federer went head to head to compete for the win of the Grand Slam title.

Murray was aiming to become the first British man since Fred Perry in 1936 to lift a major singles trophy. However, sadly Andy’s luck wasn’t on his side as Federer won: 4-6 - 7-5 - 6-3 - 6-4 on Centre Court. A massive disappoint for Murray and his fans/family/friends. A tearful Murray said:

"Everybody always talks about the pressure of playing at Wimbledon, but it's not the people watching - they make it incredible."

"There are mixed emotions. Most of them are negative. The reaction from the crowd was great. I felt like I was playing for the nation and I couldn't quite do it."

Here is a video of Murray’s speech after his defeat by Federer...
