Great Success For Children In Need

BBC Children in Need is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. One of the highlights is an annual telethon, held in November and shown on BBC One and BBC One HD from 7:30pm until 2am. Pudsey Bear is the Children in Need's mascot. The 2012 appeal took place on Friday the 16th of November.

Children In Need has been a huge success this year with millions of pounds raised. The amazing and inspiring show was presented by Tess Daly (Strictly Come Dancing presenter), Radio DJ Sir Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton (top telly host). Also top pop groups One Direction, Girls Aloud and Little Mix were on hand to perform for the public.

Throughout the show some special faces were also spotted on the stage... Olympic and Paralympic stars and Doctor Who himself, and loads more people too!

The Children In Need boss David Ramsden described the entire experience as “phenomenal”. David said: “It is amazing that people across the UK have once again come together to raise much a massive sum.” “Thank you so much for helping to change thousands of young lives across the UK”.
Also to top this all off, stars from the Olympic and Paralympic team produced a video to celebrate Children In Need. Watch the video below to see what they made...
