One Direction And Simon Cowell’s Record Label Being Sued. Part 2

Remember my story where the american One Direction sued Simon Cowell and the uk version? Well guess what? The US One Direction have revealed they've received death threats from UK One Direction's fans.

The California-based group are suing One Direction and Simon Cowell's record label over alleged copyright breaches to do with their name. One Direction US frontman Sean O'Leary told the Sun the band and his father, Dan who manages them have received death threats from angry fans of the British group. The 18-year-old frontman claimed they had also been given warnings that fans will chase them with "spoons and carrots", which is a One Direction in-joke.One Direction US have met their lawyer in Los Angeles and vowed to continue their legal battle.

Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are currently in Australia, while their record label bosses have said they have been forced to defend the lawsuit. It was revealed earlier this week that Simon Cowell's record label, Syco Entertainment, and Sony Music have been served with a $1 million lawsuit, which claims UK One Direction can't be in the American market without causing consumer confusion.

US One Direction insist they have been using the name since 2009, a year before UK 1D formed. They believe their music is better than the UK band's, but admit they have "huge respect" for them.
