Silver Lining To Victoria Pendleton’s Second Gold

Victoria Pendleton is bidding her cycling career farewell
after adding a gold and silver Olympic medal to her clutch of awards.

Victoria added a second gold to the one she won in Beijing 2008. Australian rival Anna Meares, who was said to beat Victoria in the women’s sprint, came fifth.

However London 2012 was full of disappointment after Victoria and her teammate Jessica Varnish were disqualified from the women’s team sprint. Victoria and Jessica were thankfully guaranteed a silver medal in the sprint. Well that was said, until sadly Victoria slightly mistimed the changeover.

Although the nation was hoping that Victoria Pendleton would cycle into the sunset with an Olympic Gold Medal, sadly that was not to be this time.
