A Formula 1 test driver has suffered
life-threatening injuries in a crash during testing in Cambridgeshire.
Maria de Villota age 32 is a Formula 1 test driver. She was hurt while driving an MR-01 race car for the first time. She drives for the Oxfordshire-based Marussia team at Duxford airfield. Villota has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash during testing in Cambridgeshire. The car hit a Marussia support truck which had been used to transport the car to
the track. The Ambulance Service said that Maria had been taken to
Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
