Don’t Play In The Flood Water!

A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land. The European Union Floods Directive defines a flood as a covering by water of land not normally covered by water. Flooding may result from the volume of water within a body of water, such as a river or lake, which overflows or breaks levees, with the result that some of the water escapes its usual boundaries.

A senior engineer with Flood Risk Management has warned of the dangers of playing in flood water.

In some areas of the UK, there has been some major flooding going on.  You may see kids or older children playing in the water for fun. Well this is a serious announcement to those who know anybody who does this. The Flood Risk Management has announced that to avoid any kind of contact with the water.

This is because, in some areas where the flooding is bad, the water is contaminated with raw sewage! How disgusting is that!? Please don’t ignore this as this contaminated water can cause some serious damage! So please DO NOT let anybody you know play or go in the harmful water!
