Wenlock Jug STOLEN!

This nationally significant bronze jug has been stolen from the Bedfordshire museum.

The Wenlock jug was stolen at 23:00 on Saturday. This jug is a very rare example of metalwork, associated with royalty all the way from the 1400's! It's thought that twas made for the canon of st Paul's cathedral, William Wenlock, who died in 1391. Or it could be for his great nephew, John, the first lord Wenlock, who was greatly looked up as a major figure in the 15th century!
