Olympic Torch Sales

The first torch to be used has been sold on eBay for over £150,000!

Lots of other torches have been sold but some people aren't very happy. They say that they should not be allowed to sell them! The runner own the torches if they pay £215 to keep it.
Some of the sellers say they are doing it  to help charities but some say they just want the money.
The other argument is, however, that they should have to keep them as they are part of olympic history.
Since my brother will own a torch as a torchbearer himself, we have been looking to see if it will be worth selling. But people also have to remember that soon there will be 80,000 of them so will not be worth as much. Here are some people's thoughts...

"The torchbearers had to purchase their torches which means that they can do what they like with them. Maybe the Olympic organisers should have thought this through and only loaned them out, then they would have had to be returned."

Annette, Devon, England

"I don't believe that torchbearers should be allowed to sell their Olympic torch, they were especially chosen to carry the Olympic flame and they should honour that instead of just thinking about making money."
Tom, Weston, England

"We think torchbearers should be allowed to sell their torches, as long as the money goes to a charity."
