We all know
that the legal age to use Facebook is 13+. However, there might be a slight
change to that age rating as it gets further into the year. This is what might
happen…
Young people UNDER the age of 13 may soon be allowed to join social
networking site, Facebook. Until
now, only people over the age of 13 have been allowed to sign up to the
website.
However, Simon Milner, Facebook’s head
of policy in Britain, has said that the age limit should be reviewed. This is
because there are many under 13s who have already signed up by saying they’re
older than they are, often with their parents’ permission. Mr Milner says: “A lot of parents are happy their kids are on it.” Other
people think that it is important that Facebook has a minimum age, to protect
young people from cyber bullying and other online dangers.
But what do you think? Do you think that Facebook
should have an age limitation? Or shouldn’t it have one? Feel free to post your
comments.
