The World’s First Lion-Tiger Cub Has Been Born!

I’m sure we all know what a lion and a tiger looks like. But have you ever wondered what a half lion and half tiger animal looks like? If you are, then you’re in luck! The very first lion-tiger cub has been born!
A brand new type of animal has just been introduced to the world in Russia. The new animal is called a Liliger.

The new cub’s dad is an African lion, however how this cub has turned out to be half lion half tiger is because its mum is a liger. A liger is a cross between a lion and a tiger, which makes her the world’s first known “liliger.” This new cub has now been named Kiara and she was born by her mum in a zoo.

A zoo worker called Rostislav said: “I think she has more tiger traits than lion traits.”

What would naturally occur now is that the cub would stay with her mother for a while to feed, however this is not the case because Kiara's mother sadly could not provide enough milk for her so she now has to be raised by an ordinary domestic cat to feed the hungry cub. Kiara is fed milk by her zoo keepers every three hours to keep her belly full of milk, and she receives some motherly love from the domestic cat that also looks after Kiara as well.
