Today (Friday the 10th February 2012) 4 of the DCS Student Journalists (Emily, Phoebe, Maisie, Sam) made their way to the Girls Gym, ready to do a short interview with Miss Abdulkarim. A female PE Teacher from our school, and a HUGE inspiration to us all!
We all know that the Olympics will be arriving in London soon. And there has been something different this year. This year certain people have been given the chance to carry their own Olympic Flame for the Olympics. A ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY!
So Miss Abdulkarim and Jack Waring (a student from DCS) both got chosen from our school to carry the flame. They were chosen from the entire school by people who picked them in particular as somone who inspires them and someone who is one of a kind, who goes that extra mile. So Miss Abdulkarim and Jack got chosen as an inspiration to our school communtity. We all hope that they have the time of their lives!
From then on the Student Journalists made their way to the Girls Gym where we all met Miss Abdulkarim. We cracked on and got interviewing! We prepared a script with lots of different types of questions to ask. Things like Miss Abdulkarim's sportive life and obviosuly our main reason why we went down there... The Olympic Event she will be parcipitating in.
We finished interviewing Miss Abdulkarim, and it all went smoothly, we got all the information we wanted to know. We managed to get facts from Miss like "approximately how many sports/activities have you been involved in" and "what do you have to do to prepare to carry the Olympic Flame? " By the end we collected some interesting facts about Miss Abdulkarim, and overall us Journalists enjoyed the experience a lot.
And from this we all wish Miss Abdulkarim and Jack Waring all the best and good luck for the big event! :)
