A Diamond Job!

This month the Queen and the country are celebrating an amazing event, (no, not the Olympics!) the Queen's Diamond Jubilee!
Here are a few facts and figures in commemoration...
  • The Queen is the second longest serving monarch, after Queen Victoria who reigned for 62 years!
  • During the last the last 60 years the Queen has undertaken 261 official overseas visits to 116 different country's!
  • During these visits she has received some unusual presents such as; two tortoises from the Seychelles, a seven year old bull elephant called Jumbo from the president of Cameroon and two black beavers from Canada!
  • She has been in 129 official portraits!
  • Her majesty is on facebook, has her own website, a You Tube channel and a twitter account!
  • Queen Elisabeth the second will be the oldest Queen to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee!
If you want to get involved with this special event why don't you come to one of the few event happening in the area!

Like 'the picnic on the rec' (keep calm and picnic) or Greenlands Summer fayre or why not try the Woodsets festival. You could also try Godfrey's garden centre!

Comment if your planning to go to one!
