England v France

Today is a big day. Not only for our team, but for the whole nation. How far will England go this time? All we know us that there will be a lot of nail biting moments that are not to be missed. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the youngest player on the pitch, but can he deliver? Will England be coming back with a win, draw or loss? Read on to find out.

Here are the lineups for this game:

England

Hart
Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Cole
Milner, Gerrard (c), Parker, Oxlade-Chamberlain
Welbeck, Young

France

Lloris (c)
Debuchy, Rami, Mexes, Evra
Cabaye, Diarra, Malouda
Nasri, Benzema, Ribéry

The game started off nervously in the 32 degree weather in Donetsk, Ukraine. But England were keeping it cool and dominating the game. They were so confident that they won a free kick. Gerrard took it. White shirts were flooding the box. The ball came towards Lescott. He jumped. The ball hit his head. It bounced towards the net ....... GOAL!!!!!!! England were at it again, with a 1-0 lead nothing could stop them. Well, apart from the French obviously.

4 minutes after, the young star; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain committed a light foul. Unfortunately, he got a yellow card. (Just to remind you, the yellow cards will be cleared after the group stages.) It was then that the French started advancing on the English, gaining the possession. They were heading closer and closer towards the goal. Gerrard desperately tried to block the shot, and before you knew it the ball was in the back of the net. France's Nasri scored.

Int the second half, you could see that the heat was getting to everyone; as the game became slow. Roy Hodgson decided to replace Oxlade-Chamberlain with Jermain Defoe. Parker soon followed with Henderson going on. The game carried on slowly but surely, with France having a few more shots without success. Cabaye was replaced by Ben Arfa; and then Malouda by Martin. Then England put on one last sub, Walcott, replacing Welbeck. A few more tiring moments later the referee blew his whistle once, twice and for the third time.the game was over. England had to settle with a 1-1 draw with France.

What a match that was. England are onto something here, who knows, maybe they will get to the finals? Join me next with the analysis of the Ukraine v Sweden match.
