The Adventures of Tintin - Secret of the Unicorn review

Tintin and Captain Haddock are hunting for treasure from a sunken ship but they're not the only ones...

Now i've never watched any of the original TinTin cartoons/films; I'm completely new to it all. It's a film that families and TinTin lovers will enjoy but I found it to be a bit predictable and like Indiana Jones with out a whip, it lacked some of Steven Spielberg's magic that he used on films like Jurassic Park, Jaws and ET. The computer animation was very good; the sets looked real and the characters looked like the original ones in the cartoon, but the 3D was okay, because not much popped out at you so I wouldn't go watch it in 3D. It's not worth the money. They're a lot of old references from the cartoon that I didn't pick up but other people will have.

Peter Jackson confirms that he's making a Tintin 2 if this film does well at the box offices. Tintin's original film made $510,000, so this one has a lot of pressure to do well.

Over all I give this a 6.5 out of 10; it lacked magic and was more for kids and families. I would rent it but not buy it or watch it at the cinema, as it was okay but not fantastic.
