On Wednesday 17th April, after a huge explosion
took place in the American state of Texas 15 people have died. Plus over 160
people are known to be injured.
It has been reported that some people are trapped inside the
remains of some buildings - also a number of firefighters are missing. The
explosion took place in the town of West. Unfortunately all sorts of buildings
have been destroyed, including: schools and homes.
The politician in charge of the American state, Texan
Government Rick Perry said:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of West,
and the first responders on the scene”.
Some American officials said that they think the blast was
caused by a gas called Ammonia. At the centre of the blast, gas was being
stored at a plant in high pressure tanks. The gas may be poisonous; therefore police
have evacuated around half of residents in this area.
